Southside Chicago rapper Chi City presents the music video for his single “H.Y.F.L.”. With over nine underground tapes bearing his name – his last being 2011′s Who Is Chi City – Chi has collaborated with Cory Gunz, Mullyman and has toured with Philadelphia Freeway, Mickey Factz, Mikey Halsted and Daytona. He was crowned Coast To Coast’s Indie Artist Next To Blow and has performed at the BET Artist Showcase and ThisIs50.com’s Independent Fridays. He has ghostwritten for B.O.B., Diggy Simmons and G.O.O.D. Music affiliates. “Hell yeah fuck ya life is what the H.Y.F.L stands for,” explains Chi. “The idea behind it is really about me saying f**k you to everyone who left me when they felt like I was going to fail, or those who only hung around me to benefit and not really help put the work in. So I paint the picture loud and clear about how I feel when it comes to fake frends.”

KiD CuDi Talks Creative Process & Designing

In a conversation directed by the folks over at illRoots, CuDi explains his general creative process as a musician. KiD CuDi was 1 of 6 artists chosen this year to design his own label for Beck’s beer. Then, he breaks down his label design for Beck’s, explaining that each of the 3 rings represent a different installment of his Man on the Moon trilogy. Then, Big Sean will bring the cruelness to a close with Hall of Fame on August 27.

With over nine underground tapes bearing his name – his last being 2011′s Who Is Chi City – Chi has collaborated with Cory Gunz, Mullyman and has toured with Philadelphia Freeway, Mickey Factz, Mikey Halsted and Daytona. Music affiliates. “This record really didn’t take too much thinking,” says Chi. “I felt like at the end of the day all I really had was my flow, because this is what’s going to help change the rest of my new life. And I say new life because once I accomplish all things I want , then I can let go of the past and only move forward with those that are close around me.”
